About Us:
Flying101 is a Christian organization of world class dunkers. We have performed at halftime shows for basketball games including Division 1 men's and women's basketball games, and high school games. We also participate in basketball games, as many of the dunkers have D1 basketball experience. We are actively involved in the community and are more than happy to be involved with speaking engagements, youth camps, etc. Many of Flying101's employees serve as coaches under the VertFreak101 training program and are active in helping people reach their jumping dreams. We have a vision to make the world a better place than we left it, and for people to see us as a shining light of dunkers who use Christian values as the basis for what we do. The vision is to show people that many of these dunkers weren't born with extensive talent, but got to where they are through hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
History:
Flying101 began as an idea by Azur Allen to give exposure to dunkers outside of the NBA. It started off as a 96 minute documentary showcasing dunkers around the world which received rave reviews. From there, a network was created which spurred the beginning of the Flying101 team. Beginning in December 2007, Flying101 began to perform dunk shows. Kadour Ziani, the main star, had a huge influence on Azur and those who watched the DVD with his philosophies. In the fall of 2008, Azur had a vision to integrate Ziani's philosophies with Christian values and show its parallels to dunking. A roster change took place which was greeted with much scrutiny and bitterness, but that shaped the new direction. A tight knit community was formed, and 5 dunkers took center stage. John Clark quickly became the main star, and began garnering attention as arguably one of the best dunkers of all time. Mike Tustin, Kenny Dobbs, and Rudy Clemens joined the fray and things began blossoming. Adam Linkenauger was then introduced to the squad, and brought with him the Vertfreak101 vision on ways to help people reach their jumping goals. It was an extensively researched jump program considered by many to be the best. But the revolutionary idea behind it was the personal interaction with Flying101 athletes, Olympic athletes and others as personal trainers combining efforts to make the biggest impact.
